Mercurial - free version control software

This workshop will introduce the role of version control for research and in particular computational research, using and introducing the Mercurial software as a practical tool.

The material is available here.

Participants are encouraged to bring a laptop with the Mercurial Software installed, see prerequisits.

No registration required - just come along.

This session should be very useful to all undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD students who do not yet use version control to keep track of different (and the most recent) versions of their files. Files could be source code from programming, latex files, simulation configuration files, papers, PhD thesis files, webpages, etc.

This event is part of the training programme delivered for and by the PhD students of the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Next Generation Computational Modelling .

Note that the course is delivered on Boldrewood campus, in building 177, in room 2023.
