Spanwise-velocity distribution on xy- plane for jet in crossflow case.

Sonic jet in high speed crossflow and supersonic ramp flow are simulated for global instability study. Instability is firstly found when extending 2D stable jet in crossflow into 3D with added small perturbation. Periodic spanwise variation is observed in exponential growth stage. Development of the spanwise variation varies with spanwise length (Lz). Same phenomena are also observed for ramp flow. The purpose of the study is to found the most unstable mode for the studied flow. Combining the study done by Pagella about impinging shock wave on boundary, it can be concluded as a class of phenomena.
