We model the Bergmann glial cell and the sites at which it contacts neighbouring neurons, and track the intracellular response to synaptic activity.

Bergmann glia have an intricate structure, consisting of many microdomains branching from a central stem. Each microdomain almost completely surrounds a synapse in the vicinity of the glial cell, such that electrical activity at the synapse can induce potential changes in the glia. We model the Bergmann glial cell using the modified cable equation, and attempt to match the results of the model to patch clamp data taken from real cells.
