Overview of the Role SIMULIA, the Dassault Systèmes brand for Realistic Simulation, has an immediate opening for a Technical Specialist, based at the Centre of Simulation Excellence (CSE) office in Warrington, Cheshire. The CSE provides technical support, marketing, training and consulting services to users in the UK and Ireland for all the SIMULIA brand products. The products include Abaqus for finite element analysis, Isight for process automation and optimisation and SLM for simulation data management. Responsibilities for this position include: Providing technical support to all SIMULIA Customers. Conducting training seminars. Mentoring users on best practices when using SIMULIA products. Assisting with software pre-sales activities and visiting current and prospective customers.

Candidate Requirements Applicants must have, as a minimum, a BSc or a BEng degree in Engineering, preferably in the Mechanical or Civil/structural field. An advanced degree would be preferred. Additional Requirements Excellent spoken and written communication skills, in English, are essential. Good analytical and problem solving skills. A strong background in the use of finite element methods for structural analyses. Experience in a related area (optimisation, fatigue, CFD, SPH, dynamics) is desirable. Programming experience (Python, Java, C++, FORTRAN, Visual Basic) would be beneficial. Familiarity with computer hardware and operating systems (Windows and Linux) * Knowledge of virtual machines would be advantageous. ? Familiarity with data networks and associated hardware, including firewalls, routers and switches, and the associated security, would also be beneficial.
