My main research interests are the various roles the ocean plays in the climate system. I am very interested both in long and short term dynamics, but mainly with the goal in mind of contributing to our understanding of how the climate system might respond in a timescale relevant for our civilisation. To investigate this, I believe simulation and techniques in complex systems science are invaluable.
I am currently in the DTC at the Institute for Complex Systems Simulation, Southampton University, and hope to complete a Ph.D. in Oceanography. To facilitate this, the taught year is providing me with a wide base of knowledge and tools through modules and time for self study.
