A postgraduate research student at the Institute for Complex Systems Simulation, with a BSc in Mathematics from the University of Exeter, and an MSc in Environmental Management from the University of Southampton.

My research broadly investigates methods for improving species distribution models. These include:

  • use of Distance Sampling methods and habitat covariates to improve data collection and pre-processing;

  • incorporation of species interactions in MaxEnt modelling;

  • using an individual-based model of population dynamics and dispersal to model range-shifting;

  • investigating habitat management options to best facilitate multi-species range-shifting;

  • the integration of an individual-based model of population dynamics and dispersal with an agent-based model of land-use change to investigate two-way feedback mechanisms between species and their landscape.
