Mathematical modelling is a key part of the risk assessment for agrochemicals in the EU. This talk outlines how mathematical models are used for registration purposes and outlines the risk assessment procedure. The increasing complexity and difficulty environmental risk assessment is forcing modelling to become more complex, some of the future directions for environmental modelling are also discussed.
