Whole System Modelling of V2G Power Network Control, Communications and Management

This presentation discusses my investigation into the potential benefits of the provision of V2G (Vehicle to Grid) ancillary services, from the aggregated utilisation of a number of grid connected EV batteries, through the use of a bi-directional converter between the EV and the electricity grid. Further, I shall talk about the core technologies underpinning a V2G enabled charger which must be capable of central control from a remote V2G management centre facilitated by an on board GPRS enabled communications interface. I shall also discuss my work towards the integration and simulation of the power system, V2G control, communications and bi-directional converter elements within a whole system V2G model.
