After completing my BEng in Aerospace and Astronautics in 2009 at the University of Southampton, I became a postgraduate researcher as part of the new Institute for Complex Systems Simulation.
My research involved simulation and modelling of turbulent dispersed multiphase flows, focused towards phenomena present between charged and evaporating fuel particles. The main application for this research is Homogeneous Charge Compression Ignition (HCCI), whereby the aim is to have a homogeneous mixture of fuel and air throughout the engine cylinder prior to combustion, and subsequently achieve reduced emissions and fuel consumption.
