This seminar will present state of the art computational technology applied to the medical engineering field.

It will show how computational methods [Multiphysics Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), Molecular Dynamics (MD), image processing, etc] can be of tremendous help in speeding up the design-development-test cycle and in providing medical products with better performances.

Call for papers deadline: 15 November 2010

Attending this event will help you

  • Expand the awareness and prospects of consultant engineers into the high-growth medical engineering market
  • Expand the awareness of pharmaceutical/medical device companies on the benefits of using computer simulations in the development of their products
  • Foster cross-discipline networking and collaboration opportunities among consultant engineers, researchers and biomedical companies

Who should attend

  • Biomedical engineers involved in research & development in pharmaceutical/medical device companies
  • Consultant engineers, already involved in computer simulations but with a non-existent or very limited knowledge of the use of computational methods in biomedical engineering
  • Academic researchers willing to disseminate their research to a wider audience, particularly to industry and to engage into networking activities
  • Medical engineering students
  • Surgeons, clinicians and biologists

CALL FOR PAPERS

If you work in this field and think others may be interested in your way of working or the technology being developed, why not share your knowledge and expertise by presenting at this event? The first step is to produce a 500-word abstract to be submitted to IMechE by 15 November 2010. Abstracts are invited, but not limited to, the following areas:

  • Multiphysics Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
  • Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)
  • Molecular Dynamics (MD) and image processing

Authors are encouraged to submit their abstracts with full contact details electronically to b_miah@imeche.org
