Afternoon poster session, Building 53 Common Room
A chance to learn about some of the new and exciting developments in photonics across the Faculty.
Introduced by Vice-Chancellor, Professor Don Nutbeam, this year's agenda will include talks from Anne Tropper, Nikolay Zheludev, Pavlos Lagoudakis, Peter Smith and many others from across the faculty.
Photonics day was originally put forward by Prof. David Hanna as a way of bringing together researchers from across the University of Southampton to share their work in photonics and related areas, and to promote new connections across Schools. This year we hope to provide an opportunity for recently arrived staff to talk about their research areas, and also to increase cross-field understanding by asking several researchers to give a gentle introduction into their topics as well as detail of their exciting new work.
The day’s program will consist of 3 sessions of talks – two in the morning, one in the afternoon, on a variety of topics across photonics. Lunch will be provided to those who pre-register. A poster session with wine and mince pies will round off the day, providing an opportunity to meet some of the students and post-doctoral researchers in different fields directly.
All are welcome to attend. If you plan to attend, please complete the registration form below or email Wendy White: ww@orc.soton.ac.uk.
If you would like to display a research poster in the afternoon session please let us know when you register.
