Programme for 2015 NGS symposium

This year’s Next Generation Sequencing meeting will be on Thursday 7th May (programme attached).

As you will see there is an exciting and diverse line-up including Michael Simpson, Head of the Genomic Medicine group at King’s College London, who is giving our plenary talk.

Registration is now open and places are limited. Please register here: ngs2015soton.eventbrite.co.uk. Make sure to register early as places were oversubscribed last year.

The venue will be the Heartbeat Education Suite, at the Southampton General Hospital site. For those that do not know where this is, we will send out directions to registered attendees nearer the date.

We will have various sponsored stands and a technical and sales contingent from Agilent. Lunch, coffees and snacks will be provided.

We will also be hosting a BBSRC Excellence with Impact FioNA sponsored sequencing competition for early career researchers. Your chance to win a £2,500 grant for NGS-based research based on the (almost) shortest grant application ever. You have just 100 words to make your case! Applications must be sent to bings@soton.ac.uk by 30th April. Competition rules are attached.

Finally, we are also having a poster competition, with a £50 Amazon voucher for best poster, and runner up prizes. Please send your title bings@soton.ac.uk by 30th April if you would like to contribute.

We look forward to welcoming you to the conference.

Best regards, Reuben Pengelly & Sarah Ennis
