I completed my PhD in gene mapping at Southampton in 1993 and I now lead the Genetic Epidemiology and Bioinformatics group in the Human Genetics Division (School of Medicine). Earlier work focused on construction and integration of genetic maps and genetic models of disease, including breast, ovarian and colon cancer. More recent work develops analysis of patterns of linkage disequilibrium (LD), application of LD maps in multilocus association mapping, meta-analysis and the characterization of LD structure in human populations. I have published 150 papers in international journals and a book entitled ‘Linkage Disequilibrium and Association Mapping: Analysis and Applications’.
